Having announced the squad for Saturdays game v Gornall Athletic, I feel it represents a massive challenge for the clubs rising young players.
The squad is missing key senior players in the likes of Jon Rolland, Liam Franks, Carl Bland, Urel Brown, Brett Dalton, Adam Lee, Warren Perks, Doc Foster, Mark Foster and many other established first team players from last season.
I would have liked to involved more of these players but the circumstances have been out of my control. How ever this does represent a massive opportunity for some of the fringe players and the clubs rising youngsters to prove there selves against quality opposition.
The average age of the squad is easily under nineteen and the likes of Jimmy Hobbs, Martin Finnemore, Tonn Adcock, Keiran Jones and Phil Wright will make up the back bone of the established players.
I hope all the players involved realize the opportunity presented to them and grasp it with both hands. We are looking for a massive improvement from Saturday's defeat to Thimbermill and game by game we hope to improve so that come our first week of fixtures on the 25th of August, the squad if fully prepared for the challenge of the season ahead.
Good luck to all and I'll see you Saturday
